This recipe goes out to our Paleo & Crossfit friends who are searching for tasty nutrient-dense, low-sugar snack options! We’re all familiar with sweet protein bars, bliss balls & the like, but what about a SAVOURY alternative? This recipe is full of flavour & will satisfy the afternoon snack-attack! Make up a batch or two, store in the freezer & take with you to work, training, study, etc. 


  • 2 packets Nuilife coconut flakes*
  • 2 tablespoons Chef’s Choice African Piri Piri BBQ Seasoning*
  • 4 tablespoons Nuilife coconut BBQ sauce*
  • 4 tablespoons Goodies & Grains organic extra virgin coconut oil*

  • Preheat oven to 180°C. Spread the coconut flakes out evenly on baking trays & toast until golden brown.
  • Put toasted coconut flakes into a bowl & mix in the piri piri seasoning & the coconut BBQ sauce.
  • Combine mixture in a food processor, adding the coconut oil in a light stream. Process until the mixture is quite smooth.
  • Line a tray with plastic wrap. Press coconut mixture into the tray; try to get it even and smooth. Put tray in freezer & leave for at least half an hour to set. Cut into bars & enjoy. We recommend leaving the bars in the fridge until close to eating time; the coconut oil will melt in warm temperatures.
