Coconut Chocolate Jelly

Mmm… CHOCOLATE COCONUT JELLY! Impress your vego friends with this delicious jelly, made using AGAR AGAR FLAKES. Agar agar is a flavourless & odourless gelling agent extracted from algae, & an essential pantry item for the vegetarian home cook!


  • 500g Belgian dark chocolate buttons*
  • 1 can Goodies & Grains organic coconut milk + 150mls extra*
  • ½ cup maple syrup*
  • 2 tablespoons agar agar flakes*
  • Zest of two oranges
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract*
  • Pinch salt*

Garnish: coconut threads*, bee pollen, rose petals.

  • Melt Belgian buttons over a double boiler on the stovetop.
  • Add the coconut milk, maple, agar agar, vanilla & salt to the chocolate & bring to a simmer.
  • Simmer liquid for about 5 minutes, stirring continually until slightly thickened. Stir in orange zest.
  • Pour liquid into mason jars or a jelly mould & let set in the fridge. Garnish with coconut threads, bee pollen & rose petals.
